Hello everyone!
I am delighted to be taking over as owner of this beautiful cattery and I can’t wait to welcome your cat/s for their “holidays” at Cosy Cats. Over the next few months I hope to write, hopefully interesting, posts and stories about life at the cattery and beyond. For now, I would just like to introduce myself: My name is Belinda. I grew up in the South of England but moved to Edinburgh in the late 1980s to study. I’ve been a self proclaimed “crazy cat lady” for many, many years and have had a dream of owning and running my own cattery for over 30 years now. So, yes this IS a dream come true. It is very exciting!
I have volunteered with many cat rescues and wildlife rescue organisations over the years and currently have “just” eight rescue cats of my own, which I hope I will be able to introduce to you in the coming months. I also have 4 rescue rabbits and 2 rescue hens (but as soon as Flockdown is over I hope to adopt more ex-battery hens).
My background is in horticulture, having trained at the Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh and worked at such prestigious gardens as RHS Wisley in Surrey and St Andrews Botanic Gardens. I’ve had a life long love of animals and always done pet-sitting as a side-line to my gardening work for 40 years. I have a passion for the natural world and I am looking forward to developing my own “plant and wildlife haven” at Kirkton House.
